(AP) -- ALLEN PARK, Michigan - Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford says it's great to know the front office is trying to build around him.
Stafford talked to reporters Tuesday after Detroit's first organized team workout of the offseason and sounded encouraged by the recent addition of tight end Tony Scheffler.
The Lions also have added wide receiver Nate Burleson and guard Rob Sims to give Stafford a better chance to succeed in his second season.
The No. 1 pick in last year's draft says his right knee and banged-up shoulder feel fine.
Stafford was limited to playing 10 games last season. He threw 13 touchdowns - five in one game - and 20 interceptions for a team that won twice after being the NFL's first 0-16 team.
