(AP) -- DETROIT - Former Central Michigan quarterback Dan LeFevour has been selected as the Detroit Athletic Club's Michigan College Athlete of the Year.
The DAC said in a release Tuesday that LeFevour and Michigan State basketball player Allyssa DeHaan, the female recipient of the award, will be honored at a May 10 banquet.
The award is presented to student-athletes who excel academically and athletically, exhibit leadership and promote ethical and sportsmanlike behavior.
LeFevour led the Chippewas, who were 36-15 in games he started, to three conference titles in his four seasons as a starter, four bowl game appearances and two bowl victories.
LeFevour finished with 150 touchdowns, more than any other player in Football Bowl Subdivision, and 15,853 total yards.
