Saginaw native and Pittsburgh Steelers Pro Bowl Linebacker SAGINAW -- LaMarr Woodley is coming back again to host his 3rd Annual Football Camp, giving children of Saginaw an incredible opportunity to learn about football from NFL players in a fun environment.

This FREE camp will be held Saturday, June 12 at Saginaw High School. The camp provides youth ages 8 – 15 years old the opportunity to work on their football skills, sportsmanship, and teamwork skills, while building self-esteem both on and off the field. Each participant will receive a T-shirt and lunch, as well as have the opportunity to meet with LaMarr and other NFL celebrities.

“This community means a lot to me and I will always support it,” said Woodley. “I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for all of the community members who have helped me along the way. I really strive to give back to Saginaw as much as possible, and I’m really happy to be able to bring back this camp again for its third year.”

Camp registration begins Monday, May 3, and is currently registering the first 300 children ages 8 – 15 years old. Parents can find the registration form and waiver at Coach Donald Durrett’s office at Saginaw High. Please return ALL forms to Coach Durrett by May 31, no exceptions. This year, you may keep the top half of the registration form (stamped by Saginaw High) as your confirmation, please bring on June 12 if possible. You can also find the forms on LaMarr’s website, www.lamarrwoodley56.com. Camp is limited to the first 300 children, so please register early!

LaMarr Woodley had an incredible playoff run in 2008 and with two sacks in both the Divisional Round and Conference Championship, Woodley became the first player in NFL history to record three consecutive multi-sack playoff games, dating back to the Steelers' 31-29 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars in the Wild Card Round of the 2008 playoffs. In Super Bowl XLIII, Woodley extended this streak to four games when he sacked Kurt Warner twice, forcing the game-ending fumble on Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner with 5 seconds remaining in the game to secure the win. In 2009, LaMarr built upon his strong showing the season before by recording 13.5 sacks, a career high. He was also named to his first ever Pro Bowl.

The 3rd  Annual LaMarr Woodley Football Camp is made possible by Powerade, SmartWater, NIKE, EA Sports, the Springhill Suites, Hometown Sports, Subway and FedEx.
