SAGINAW -- The Saginaw Spirit are pleased to announce the signing of goalie Jake Paterson, the 32nd overall pick in the 2010 OHL Priority Selection.  The Mississauga, Ontario native posted 15 shutouts and allowed only 70 goals in 50 games last season with the Ontario Minor Midget Toronto Marlboros.  During the 2010 OHL Cup, he posted a 1.56 goals-against average in six games.  Paterson - who comes in at 6'1", 175 pounds - will be wearing the number 57 for the Spirit.

“Jake have great character, attitude and work ethic,” stated Spirit Goaltending Coach Randy Wilson following Paterson’s selection in the OHL Priority Selection, “he is your atypical butter fly goalie with decent size and good net discipline.  He maintains his focus throughout the game to shutdown the opponent.
