Hornets open at Bendle August 27th
NEW LOTHROP -- Four years removed from the Division 8 state title, the New Lothrop football program continues to be one of the most consistent teams in Mid-Michigan.
"There's no doubt the expectations here at New Lothrop are extremely high. Everyone expects you to win, the community, the school and most importantly the kids expect to win. There's already an inner-built confidence within the kids. Its makes it a little easier for them to buy what we're selling to them. It makes it nice," says head coach Clint Galvas, who enters his second season with the Hornets after coming over from Hamady.
New Lothrop has qualified for the postseason every year since 2000, and figures to continue the streak this fall.
"There's a lot less getting bossed around, that's kinda nice. Being an upperclassmen you've got to be an example for all the other kids. Just show all the younger kids the way that our culture is around here," says senior quarterback Tyler Bennett, when referring to the maturation cycle within the program.
New Lothrop opens the 2010 season at Burton Bendle on August 27th.
