Flint Northwestern hosts Bloomfield Hills Andover in Week 7 of FNF
MT. MORRIS TOWNSHIP -- Flint Northwestern football coach Andre Rison is thankful for the chance he has been given by Linda Thompson, Gail Ganakas and the rest of the Flint Community Schools administration.
The list of shout outs is complete before Rison answers a single question about Flint Northwestern's 0-6 start.
The Wildcats nearly got into the win column last Friday, when they let a late lead slip away in a 22-21 loss at Swartz Creek.
Rison, in his first season in charge of the program at his high school alma mater, continues to forge his coaching techniques.
"Sometimes my twist is the new age twist. You almost have to be inside them to know what they're thinking and it's a different world now. When I came up there were no computers or cell phones, things of that nature. There were only 20 channels if that. Now, you've got a billion channels, cell phones, Internet. Its unbelievable how the game has revolved into a recruiting war over the Internet," says Rison.
