DURAND -- LakeVille opened the season 3-0 while dominating on defense and not giving up a single point. Then the Falcons dropped three games in a row to Genesee Area Conference powers Goodrich, Montrose and Flint Beecher though LakeVille could have won two of those games. Against Durand on Friday, the Falcons dominated once again, winning, 63-0, and keeping their playoff hopes alive.

Kenny Sanders got the scoring started when he scored at 6:35 of the first quarter on a 10-yard run. Josh Johnson made the PAT. Just over two minutes later, Nick Streichert returned a punt 55 yards for a score, with the PAT good. Again just two minutes later, Trevor Komar connected with Logan Hicks on a 73-yard touchdown to put the Falcons up 21-0 after the quarter.

Sanders once again found paydirt in the second quarter when he plunged in from 1 yard out at 11:36 of the second. Johnson converted the PAT and then returned an interception for a touchdown less than two minutes later. Streichert found the end zone once again with a 5-yard run before the half to give the Falcons the 42-0 lead at the half.

The third quarter only saw one LakeVille touchdown when Sanders ran one in from 11 yards out at 8:58 of the quarter to extend the lead to 49-0.
Ryan Freeman scored on a 24-yard run at 10:50 of the fourth and Drew Haynes returned an interception for a score at 5:42 to end the scoring for the Falcons. Johnson converted all nine extra-point attempts.

Sanders led the ground attack with 92 yards on 10 attempts and three scores. Komar was 2-for-3 passing for 82 yards and one touchdown. The defense was led by Cody Smith and Cecil Batchelor with nine tackles each. Grant Welch added an interception for LakeVille.
The Falcons will look to keep their playoff hopes alive when they travel to Mt. Morris on Friday in  a GAC-Red showdown.
