Michigan State men’s basketball head coach Tom Izzo announced Wednesday that four players have signed National Letters of Intent to attend Michigan State next fall and play for the 2011-12 Spartan basketball team. The signees include EAST LANSING -- Dwaun Anderson (G, 6-3, 195, Suttons Bay, Mich., Suttons Bay H.S.), Branden Dawson (F, 6-6, 205, Gary, Ind., Lew Wallace H.S.), Brandan Kearney (F, 6-6, 182, Detroit, Mich., Southeastern H.S.) and Travis Trice (G, 6-0, 168, Huber Heights, Ohio, Wayne H.S.).

Dwaun Anderson (G, 6-3, 195, Suttons Bay, Mich., Suttons Bay H.S.) – 2010 Class C All-State Selection as chosen by the Detroit Free Press … Averaged 20 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 blocks as a junior for Coach Todd Hursey at Suttons Bay High School … Led Suttons Bay to a 25-2 mark and a spot in the 2010 Class C state title game … Totaled 16 points, 12 rebounds, five blocks and three steals in the title game … Also earned All-Northwest Conference and All-Area Dream Team honors as a junior … Ranked the No. 89 player and the No. 23 shooting guard in the nation by Rivals.com … 2009 Class C All-State Selection as chosen by the Detroit Free Press … Averaged 19.7 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4 assists as a sophomore … 2009 All-Northwest Conference and All-Area First Team selection … Averaged 14.5 points, 2 assists and 1.5 rebounds as a freshman.

Branden Dawson (F, 6-6, 205, Gary, Ind., Lew Wallace H.S.) – 2010 Associated Press First-team All-State honoree … 2010 Northwest Indiana Times Player of the Year … Averaged 23.1 points, 14.7 rebounds, 4.8 steals and 3.1 blocks as a junior, shooting 62 percent from the field … Led Lew Wallace High School to a 19-5 mark and the 3A state championship game, totaling 22 points and 11 rebounds in an overtime loss … Ranked among the top 15 players in the nation by Rivals.com (#13), ESPNU Top 100 (#14) and Scout.com (#15) … Rated the No. 4 small forward in the nation by Rivals.com, ESPNU Top 100 and Scout.com … Participated in 2010 LeBron James and Paul Pierce Skills Academies … Participated in 2010 NBA Top 100 Camp … Two-time all-area selection … Averaged 17.3 points, 15 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 4.5 steals and 3.8 blocks as a sophomore … AAU teammate of fellow Michigan State signee Travis Trice for SYF Players … Plays for Coach Renaldo Thomas at Lew Wallace High School.

Brandan Kearney (F, 6-6, 182, Detroit, Mich., Southeastern H.S.) – Averaged 15.6 points, 6.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists, 3 steals and 1 block as a junior for Coach George Ward at Detroit Southeastern High School … Also shot 51 percent from the field … Led Southeastern to 2010 Michigan Class A regional semifinal … 2010 Sixth-team All-State Class A and Third-team All-Detroit selection as chosen by Detroit Free Press … Scored a season-high 33 points against Chicago Julien … Participated in 2010 NBA Top 100 Camp … Rated the No. 29 small forward in the nation by Scout.com … Took part in USA Basketball competition in each of the last two summers … 2010 USA Basketball Youth Olympic Games participant … Member of 2009-10 USA Basketball Men’s Developmental National Team … Won a Gold Medal with Team USA at the 2009 FIBA Americas U16 Championship … Averaged 12.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 6.0 assists as a sophomore … Led Southeastern to 2009 district title and PSL championship game … Averaged 10 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.5 assists as a freshman.

Travis Trice (G, 6-0, 168, Huber Heights, Ohio, Wayne H.S) – Averaged 22.1 points, 4.9 assists and 4.2 steals as a junior at Wayne High School, playing for his father Travis Trice … Shot 43 percent from 3-point range … 2010 Third-team All-State honoree … First-team all-conference and all-district selection … 2010 conference player of the year … Rated the No. 28 point guard in the nation by Scout.com ... Two-time district underclassman of the year … Averaged 16.5 points as a sophomore … 2009 Third-team all-district and First-team all-conference … AAU teammate of fellow Michigan State signee Branden Dawson for SYF Players … Father, Travis, played two years each at Purdue and Butler … Grandfather, Bob Pritchett, played at Vincennes University and Old Dominion and is in the Old Dominion Hall of Fame.
