Irish knock off Division Eight powerhouse Crystal Falls, 27-16

MARQUETTE -- Mount Pleasant Sacred Heart insisted they weren't intimidated by Crystal Falls Forest Park, or their staggering resume of six consecutive trips to the Division Eight state championship game.

On Friday night, they proved it.

After falling behind by a 7-0 score, the Irish seized control of their state semifinal game against the Trojans and pulled away for a 27-16 victory, from the Superior Dome on the campus of Northern Michigan University.  Sacred Heart improved to 13-0, and earned a trip to Ford Field in Detroit for the Division Eight state title game on Friday, November 26th at 10 a.m.

The Irish will face either Fulton-Middleton or Saugatuck, who square off Saturday afternoon.
