No offical word on Rodriguez's job fate
FLINT -- Michigan football coach Rich Rodriguez and Athletic Director David Brandon will meet Wednesday to discuss the coach's future in Ann Arbor.
It is widely expected that Rodriguez will be fired.
NBC25's Dillon Collier spoke with Wolverine fans Tuesday who say after three bad years, it's time for Rich Rod to go.
"I've been a firm believer that somebody should get at least four years," says Steve Mintline who attended the Gator Bowl last Saturday. "But I think its been proven that there's no progress being made and its time to make a change."
From national powerhouse to Big Ten afterthought.
Michigan's fall from grace has been painful for fans of the maize and blue to watch.
"Not only is he continuing to lose to Ohio State. But Penn State and Michigan State, two teams that we used to (beat)," says Austin Bailey, a junior at the University of Michigan-Flint. "We're only competing with Purdue and Illinois in the conference and that's not acceptable. You've had three years."
"He had his chance to win games and we've lost to Ohio State for three years, and its too much," says David Arnould, a junior at UM-Flint.
The losing streak against the Buckeyes actually stands at seven-straight games.
"I think that 'Michigan man' is thrown around way too much. Look at any of these players on this team. Were they 'Michigan men' when they got here? No. They are now," says Mintline. "Rodriguez put three years of all his time all of his efforts into Michigan football. So he's a 'Michigan man' regardless of how you want to define it."
