Detroit earns 6-5, overtime win over Columbus
DETROIT (AP) -- Johan Franzen scored 45 seconds into overtime to give the Detroit Red Wings a 6-5 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets in a seesaw game on Saturday night.
Drew Miller had a goal and two assists, and Jonathan Ericsson and Kris Draper each added a goal and an assist for Detroit.
Valtteri Filppula and Brian Rafalski also scored and Darren Helm had two assists. Joey MacDonald made 24 saves.
Rick Nash had a goal and two assists and Derick Brassard and Grant Clitsome a goal and an assist each for Columbus. Matt Calvert and R.J. Umberger also scored and Steve Mason stopped 28 shots.
Franzen beat Mason with a shot from the high inside edge of the right circle for his 19th goal.
