ANN ARBOR (AP) -- Tim Hardaway Jr. scored a career-high 26 points and Michigan held off Indiana for a 73-69 win Saturday.

The Wolverines led 66-44 with 5:26 left, and then the Hoosiers went on a 17-2 run.

Christian Watford, playing for the first time since breaking his left hand, pulled Indiana within 70-67 with 27 seconds left.

Michigan missed a lot of free throws, but Darius Morris sealed the victory by making two at the line with 8 seconds left.

The Wolverines (16-10, 6-7 Big Ten) won their third straight to surpass the number of victories they had last season and improve their NCAA tournament chances. Morris had 15 points, Stu Douglass scored 13 and Zack Novak added 10.

The Hoosiers (12-14, 3-10) have lost three straight. Watford scored 14, Victor Oladipo had 13, Verdell Jones III scored 12 and Jordan Hulls added 10.
