Eagles to face Bridgeport Wednesday in Districts
BIRCH RUN -- Luke Bade had 19 points and Frankenmuth survived a feverish rally from host Birch Run to beat the Panthers 56-45 Thursday night.
With the victory, Frankenmuth grabs a share of the Tri-Valley East title with Bridgeport.
"We've been struggling. Its just great to come into their gym, against our rival and get a big win. It was for the TVC, yeah we had to share it but it still feels just as good," said Frankenmuth head coach Andy Donovan.
The Eagles and Bearcats meet Wednesday night at Carrollton High School, in the Class B District Semifinals.
In Buena Vista, George Goodman had 28 points and led the Knights to a 74-69 victory over visting Standish-Sterling.
The Panthers came into the game with a perfect 19-0 record, best in school history.
Standish center Cole Walderzak had 24 points and 12 rebounds in the loss.
The Panthers will take on Tawas Area Wednesday, in the Gladwin District.
Buena Vista meanwhile, gets a bye and will take the floor Wednesday at the Montrose District.
