SAGINAW -- The Saginaw Sting held off a late charge from the Canton Cougars and hung on to win 62-61 Friday night at the Dow Event Center.

Saginaw improves to 6-2 overall and remains in second place in the UIFL standings.

The Sting got a spark from defensive back Kevin Brown, who lit up a Cougars receiver late in the first quarter, then returned a missed field goal inside the one-yard line.

Saginaw travels to first place Northern Kentucky next Saturday.  The Sting's next appearance at the Dow Event Center is on Friday April 29th versus Johnstown.
