Saginaw wins with pair of WR's playing QB

SAGINAW -- The Saginaw Sting rallied from a 33-21 halftime deficit to beat the Northern Kentucky River Monsters 48-47 Friday night in the semifinals of the UIFL Playoffs.

Saginaw awaits the winner of Huntington and Eastern Kentucky. The other UIFL semifinal is scheduled for Sunday afternoon.

The Sting played without the services of quarterback Tommy Jones, who left the team earlier in the week for personal reasons.

Wide receivers Yvens Louis and Kevin Brown split time at QB.

Northern Kentucky was led by former Kentucky QB Jared Lorenzen, who played well, but could not lead his club to a victory on the road.
