Sports anchor getting married in the fall
CLIO -- Three summers ago, Matt Waymire left his job at WICZ TV and followed his fiancée to Michigan.
A leap of faith for someone who did not have another television job lined up.
As luck would have it, we had an immediate opening around the time Matt moved to Michigan, and the rest as they say 'is history'.
During Matt's time at NBC25, the sports department was twice honored by the Michigan Associated Press.
He covered the Stanley Cup Finals in Detroit and in Pittsburgh, which meant driving all day to get to Mellon Arena, then driving all night to get back to Michigan.
Matt approached the job with a tireless work ethic, which few people in any industry can match.
I speak for everyone that worked with him, when I say that he will be missed.
Matt, congratulations on your upcoming wedding this fall and I am happy that I will be there to celebrate it with you.
