Great Lakes boogies to a 10-3 win
MIDLAND -- Jonathan Garcia had a 2-run home run that left Dow Diamond altogether and Garrett Gould moved into a tie for the Midwest League lead in wins as the Great Lakes Loons beat rival Lansing 10-3 Friday night in Midland.
Gould (8-3) struck out seven Lugnuts in seven innings of work.
The Loons jumped out to a 4-0 lead after one inning, but lost shortstop Christian Lara in the process.
Lara appeared to break his leg while sliding into home and had to be carted off of the field with his leg wrapped.
Great Lakes has now won back-to-back games for the first time since the All-Star break.
They will go for the sweep tomorrown night at 7:05 pm.
