Stingy defense, tough offense gives Blue Devils first season victory
LAKE FENTON -- Lake Fenton knocked out a tough Mt. Morris team in a tough GAC Red matchup by a score of 28-7 Friday night.
The first game in conference play showcased a couple of standout plays from Lake Fenton's Rob Kessler, who scored two touchdowns in the second half, including a 35-yard touchdown reception on a fourth-down conversion.
Lake Fenton (1-1) hosts LakeVille (0-2) in their Week 3 match-up, while Mt. Morris (0-2) will host Durand (0-2).
Saginaw Nouvel routed Traverse City St. Francis 48-12 in a battle of perennial football powerhouses.
Nouvel jumped out to an early lead and didn't let go, leading 41-12 at the end of the first half.
Saginaw Nouvel hosts Windsor Assumption in their Week 3 game.
