The crowd was so loud, the Bear's offense could not hear the snap.
DETROIT -- It's been 55 years since the Detroit Lions went 5-0, and the crowd that showed up for the first Monday Night Football game in Motown in a decade, made sure to get their team there.
"It was the biggest crowd I've seen here," Brandon Pettigrew, Lions Tight end, said. "It was electric and the crowd was useful to us, we had nine offside penalties for the Bears."
"For it to be Monday night, and for the crowd to be like it was, it was amazing for me to be apart of it," Lions Rookie Defensive Tackle Nick Fairley said.
"It energizes us," Calvin Johnson, Lions wide receiver, said. "We feed off of them. We really appreciate it the way they came out the way they did. We're going to keep on doing what we're doing for them."
Coach Jim Schwartz said Monday after the Lions' 24-13 victory over the Bears, that the 12th man deserved the game ball, the crowd rattled Cutler and the Bears so much. As for the Lions' biggest fan, who was inside the locker room celebrating with the team post game, said it's about time Detroiters had something to cheer about.
"It's not only the Tigers, the Red Wings or the Pistons rebuilding, it's people believing in this city," Kid Rock said. "We've had a black eye for so long, people want to take that away, put it on ice. It's time to show what good we got."
The Lions play at home next week against the San Francisco 49ers, so there is a good shot that this team could soon be 6-0.
