Vassar outlasts Frankenmuth in regular season finale

Vulcans finish 8-1 but both are playoff-bound

SAGINAW -- The Vassar Vulcans finished the regular season 8-1 as they knocked off the Frankenmuth Eagles 31-28.

The game was played at Wickes Field out at Saginaw Valley State University as both teams ended their regular season before their first playoff matchup.

In a cross-town rivalry game, Bay City Western prevailed over Bay City Central 40-37.

Saginaw MLS is in the playoffs for a second straight year after a victory over Bay City All Saints 49-7.

Playoff matchups will be determined Sunday, October 23.
