CARROLLTON -- The Montrose Rams wrapped up the GAC Red Championship last week. This week, the Carrollton Cavaliers were looking to tarnish the Rams perfect season. But Friday night... it was all Montrose. They roll passed the Cavaliers 47-0.
"Obviously you know it's a big win for us," Head Coach Dennis Reinhart said. "The kids being part of history going 9-0, so obviously that's great for them, but also going into the playoffs. Playing a fine football team in Carrollton and going out here and playing the way we did. Hopefully this gets us prepared for the playoffs."
"We've been working hard all year to get to this point," Caleb Reinhart, running back and the coach's son, said. "Everyday in the off-season we were hitting the weights, ran everyday. We were working with out quarterbacks, running backs, our lineman, we were working hard. We just worked at this and it feels great to be here."
It was the regular season finale Friday for Mt. Morris and Birch Run. The two teams went into the half separated by a point, but things opened up in the second half and Mt. Morris comes away with the win 24-17.
