Yellowjackets overcome slow start to advance

MONTROSE -- Defending Division Six state champion Ithaca trailed 10-0 in the first quarter before finally overpowering Montrose 28-13.

The Yellowjackets have now won 25 straight games going back to last year. They move on to their third straight regional final.

Flint Powers built an early 16-0 lead and rolled over Millington 28-7 in a Division Five district final.

The Chargers will play Hemlock in Powers' first regional final since 2006.

New Lothrop made quick work of Ubly in a Division Eight regional final, 21-8, at home.

The Hornets will play Petersburg Summerfield, possibly without running back Amari Coleman who left the game with an injured left leg.
