NORTH BRANCH --

Frankenmuth’s dreams of a state championship in volleyball were cut short after a 3-1 quarterfinal loss to Marysville on Tuesday night.

The Lady Eagles went up one game to the Lady Vikings, but Marysville recovered and took the three following games 25-21, 25-23 and 25-22.

Frankenmuth went 53-10-3 in their 2011 campaign, 6-0 in the Tri-Valley East, taking the division crown.
