SWARTZ CREEK -- It was a big Flint Metro league match up when Fenton traveled to Swartz Creek Friday night.
It was back and forth early, and after two quarters of play, Fenton lead by five points.
In the 4th, Swartz Creek led by 8 points with three minutes to go, but Fenton out shot them 14-8 and went on to win 51-48.
Post-game, Tigers Head Coach Tim Olszewski couldn't have been prouder.
"We knew it would be this type of game," Olszweski said. "They have a great atmosphere here, they're a well-coached team and it was a battle down to the end just like I knew it would be. I give a lot of credit to my kids for not giving up. They kept playing. They executed when we needed them to execute. I'm very, very proud of the way we played tonight."
Beecher was undefeated in the conference, and 8-0 on the season when they went on the road to Montrose Friday. The Rams hung in there early, but were quickly overpowered by the Bucs 92-47. Monte Morris scored 26 points and had 11 assists. Emmanuel Phifer scored 21 points.
Breckenridge was at Valley Lutheran Friday. The Chargers were looking for just their second win of the season. But Friday was not the night for Valley Lutheran. Breckenridge won it 67-55. Tyler Gulick had 24 points. Nick Foor notched 23 points.
