LAPEER -- Lapeer West Alumna Raquel Wallace of "32-bliss" came back to sing the national anthem, and she got to see her hometown team win.
Cullen Turczyn scored 20 points, David Price added 12 to lift West over Rival East Friday night.
Wallace said she was nervous to sing in front of her home crowd.
"I'm more nervous for this than I've ever been for anything I've ever done since I've been here,' She said. "I'm excited to be back. I'm singing in front of my family and friends so I feel fortunate to be back."
Hemlock traveled to Frankenmuth for a tri-valley cross over game. The infamous student section with a "black out."
Alex Kueffner started off the scoring with a triple for the Eagles, and nailed another one a few minutes later.
Peter Kariuki sent a long pass down-court for TJ Vondette, who finished it up with a lay up.
Hemlock turnovers put the Eagles in front in the first quarter, but the third was all Huskies as they outscored Frankenmuth 17-4 to come away with the win, 57-36.
In more TVC cross over action, Alma traveled to Number One Bridgeport Friday.
The Bearcats were too much for Alma, winning 54-43 to improve to 10-1.
To one of the best rivalries in girls basketball, Powers traveled to Flushing for a Big Nine match up.
The Raiders only have one loss this season, and the Powers chargers made it close to two, but Flushing hangs on to win it 46-42.
