The Great Lakes Loons beat the Lansing Lugnuts 7-1 Wednesday.

MIDLAND -- The Loons welcomed the first-placed Lansing Lugnuts to Dow Diamond Wednesday for the first game of a three-game series.

Great Lakes got their bats going early, scoring three runs in the first inning. They added one in the fourth and three more in the 7th to rout the Lugnuts 7-1.

Loons ace Jarret Martin started and got the win.

Game two is Thursday at 7:05 PM at Dow Diamond.
