DETROIT -- Through seven innings, Justin Verlander has not allowed a hit to the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Though he has given up two walks, Verlander has struck out nine batters, including retiring 18 straight through the seventh inning.

The Tigers lead the Pirates 6-0.
