The Miami Heat have returned to the NBA finals for the second consecutive year. However if the Heat hope to avoid a similar disappointment to last year’s results, they will have to knock off the young Oklahoma City Thunder.

The two teams faced each other just twice in the regular season, with each team winning on their home floor. This may favor the Thunder, who possess home court in this series.

Much of the attention will be on superstars LeBron James and Kevin Durant. James was the regular season MVP for the third time in his career, while counterpart Durant won his third scoring title.

For LeBron, this marks his third trip to the finals, winning just two games in his first two appearances. Meanwhile this is just Durant’s first finals appearance and he has a chance to help lead the Thunder to their first franchise championship since 1979 (Seattle Sonics).

Game one is set to take place at 9pm Tuesday in Oklahoma City.
