The Flint Powers Catholic Chargers defeated Pontiac Notre Dame Prep 2-0 in girls soccer Wednesday night, advancing to the MHSAA Division Three girls soccer state finals to have a chance to defend their 2011 title.

Powers Catholic senior Chelsea Howe and sophomore Morgan McKerchie were the goal scorers for the Chargers, and the team continued their streak of not allowing a single goal in the playoffs.

The MHSAA Division Three Finals take place on June 16 at Williamston High School, at 3 p.m. Powers will play Hudsonville Unity Christian in a rematch of last year's final. This will be Hudsonville's ninth straight finals appearance.
