The 2012 NHL draft takes place this weekend in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Two players from this past year’s Saginaw Spirit are hoping to hear their name announced during this weekend’s draft.
Goaltender Jake Paterson and forward Justin Kea who made a name for themselves this past season in the Ontario Hockey League.
Paterson has been receiving some good looks by pro scouts at the NHL draft combine.
Kea scored 14 points for the Spirit last season and has had contact with various teams including the Buffalo Sabres and the Pittsburgh Penguins. Scouts have been impressed with Kea’s size and skating ability.
