Courtney Weaver, 16, survived another round of eliminations Thursday morning at the U.S. Olympic swim trials as she advanced to the semifinals.

Weaver placed ninth in the quarterfinals with a time of 2:11.69 in the 200-meter butterfly. The Davison native had an opportunity to qualify for a spot in Friday’s final heat, however fell short after finishing with a time of 2:13.09, just over two seconds off the final qualifying time of 2:11.00.

The top two swimmers from Friday’s heat will make the U.S. Olympic team for the 2012 London Olympics
