The Saginaw Spirit announced Tuesday the singing of Russian goaltender Nikita Serebryakov to a standard Ontario Hockey League contract.
Serebryakov was selected with the No.18 overall pick in the 2012 CHL import draft after spending last season with the Moscow Dynamo Jr. program.
The 16-year-old goaltender excelled at the 2012 World Under 17 Challenge leading Russia to a Gold medal. Serebryakov is expected to be in attendance when the Spirit open training camp in August.
