Doug Fister allowed just one run through eight innings while striking out 10 for the Tigers as they took down the Angels 7-2 Wednesday night.

Fister surrendered just two hits one night after the Angels went for 13 runs on 18 hits. Prince Fielder and Brennan Boesch each had two hits and two RBI for Detroit, who are now 2.5 games back of the White Sox for the AL central lead.

The Tigers have won two of three against the Angels and look to win the series finale Thursday afternoon at Comerica Park as Max Scherzer will take the mound (8-5, 4.84) to face counterpart Jerome Williams (6-6, 4.67).
