According to Her Campus Media, Michigan ranks 9th among all US Colleges in producing Olympic Athletes, among others things.

One competing this year of course, is Grand Blanc native Geena Gall, in the women's 800 meters.

Here's why Her Campus Media chose Michigan at #9:

"The Ann Arbor based school has sent 226 Olympic athletes and coaches to the Games since 1900, winning a total of 138 medals and at least one gold medal in all but four Olympics. Speaking of medals, ever heard of Michael Phelps? The 32-time world record holder and winner of the most Olympic gold medals in history was once a Michigan student. Gymnast Samuel Mikulak is a current student, as are 2010 Olympic ice dancing silver medalists Meryl Davis and Charlie White.  #GoBlue."
