The Saginaw Valley State University Cardinals said they plan on continuing a balanced attack on offense in 2012 at their annual media day in Wickes Stadium.

Fifth-year head coach Jim Collins said that he is confident in his offense, led by junior quarterback Jonathon Jennings, and that they will maintain a mix of run and pass with the skilled personnel they have.

“We have a quarterback that's good at throwing the ball but he's also a threat to run it,” Collins said of Jennings. “We've got running backs who can catch it out of the backfield but are also great in terms of running the football.”

The Cardinals open their season on Saturday, September 1 against Valdosta State.
