KOCHVILLE TWP. -- Saginaw Valley State football head coach Jim Collins suspended five players for a violation of team rules, said Matt Woodbury, Director of Athletic Media Relations, in a press release.

Offensive linemen Tevon Conrad, Jesse Somsel, Jack Raymond and Davison native Kaleb Forr, along with defensive end Nate Snyder were all suspended for one game each. They will sit out of SVSU's season opener against Valdosta State on Saturday, September 1.

According to freep.com, the players were suspended over a hazing incident that took place in training camp this summer.

"SVSU continues to handle this matter in accordance with internal Athletic Department and University policies," Woodbury said in the press release.
