GRAND BLANC -- Ever since Geena Gall returned home from London, it seems she's been running from one place to the next.

"I got recognized by the Flint Chamber, the Grand Blanc Chamber," Gall said. "It's pretty cool to be recognized to get the key to city. I never thought that would happen."

The 2012 Olympian is humbled by the sentiment but saID she can't help but wonder what might have been if she hadn't strained her calf before the Games. Perhaps gotten a spot in the finals? Maybe even brought home a medal?

"It burns still," Gall Said. "It's the name of the sport getting hurt and how you react. I'm really happy I at least made it to the semi's."

Don't get her wrong; the 25-year-old said she had a blast across the pond, from meeting other athletes, to attending The Dark Knight Rises premiere, to getting a brand new hairdo.

"There was a Proctor & Gamble Salon there for the athletes," Gall said. "I wanted to look like Victoria Beckham. When in Rome, you know?"

It was a dream fullfilled just to make it there. She said it's a credit to her parents.

They're my biggest fans," Gall said. "They always pushed me to achieve more."

It is that competitive spirit that has Gall going for more. Training begins again in Oregon for the World Championships next year, then there's Rio in four years. In between, she will be busy planning the next big step in her life - getting married.

"September of next year," Gall said of the wedding date. "There was just too much going on with the Olympic trials and Olympics. I didn't want to plan a wedding too. "

The crazy thing is Gall thrives under pressure.
