Flint Powers soccer falls in Div. 3 champ. game

BATTLE CREEK -- The Flint Powers girls soccer team lost 1-0 to Hudsonville Unity Christian on Saturday in Grand Rapids in the division three state title game.

In softball, Unionville-Sebewaing nailed Decatur 4-0 in division four, to capture their third state crown in four years.

Fellow Greater Thumb West member Reese was not as fortunate in Battle Creek.

The Rockets allowed a first inning run and could never get on the scoring sheet, losing to Gladstone 1-0 in division three.

In baseball, Shepherd and Beal City claimed state titles in division three and four respectively.
