(AP) -- ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) - The Detroit Lions have signed third-round pick Derrick Williams to a three-year contract.
The team announced the deal Friday, but didn't disclose further terms.
Williams is a wide receiver from Penn State. Detroit selected him 82nd overall in April's draft and expect also to work him out as a kick returner.
Williams started 43 games during his career at Penn State, catching 161 passes for 1,743 yards and nine touchdowns. His 1,743 yards rank 10th in school history, and his 161 receptions rank third.
Williams is 5-foot-11, 197 pounds and from Greenbelt, Md.
