Rodriguez fired by Michigan in January after three seasons
TUCSON, AZ -- Rich Rodriguez has been hired as the next football coach at the University of Arizona, less than a year after being fired by the University of Michigan.
Rodriguez was fired by Michigan in January, after going 15-22 in three seasons. He has been working as a television studio analyst since then.
Arizona fired Mike Stoops last month. The Wildcats have never played in the Rose Bowl, and the program has not won more than eight games in a season since the late 1990's.
