Flint Carman-Ainsworth, Davison and Carrollton also grab big wins

FRANKENMUTH -- In the Tri-Valley Conference East Division, Bridgeport (8-0, 5-0 in TVC) defeated Frankenmuth (5-2, 4-1 in TVC) 60-53, maintaining their undefeated record on the road.

The Bearcats credited their defense on the victory, specifically their work on Eagles’ guard Kent Redford.

“He’s an outstanding shooter,” Bridgeport head coach Jason Kowalski said of Redford. “We spent the last four weeks preparing for this game.”

“We played good defense and shut down their star players,” said Bridgeport junior Lance Monroe. “We respect them but we had to stop them from scoring too.”

In a low scoring contest, Flint Carman-Ainsworth (3-5, 1-0 in Big Nine) notched its first conference win of the season, beating Flushing (1-7, 0-1 in Big Nine) 42-32.

Also in the Big Nine, Davison (4-5, 1-0 in Big Nine) defeated Powers Catholic (3-5, 0-1 in Big Nine) 41-34.

In Carrollton, the Cavaliers (5-2, 3-1 in TVC) beat St. Charles (0-6, 0-5 in TVC) 76-45.
