Monte Morris led the Bucs with 21 points, 8 rebounds
MT. MORRIS TWP. -- The Beecher Buccaneers remained undefeated at 18-0, beating Melvindale ABT out of the Detroit area, 65-42.
Melvindale was the same team that beat Beecher in the 2010 Class C State Tournament. The Gators went on to win the state title that year.
This was junior point guard Monte Morris' first game back from an injured ankle--he scored 21 points to lead all scorers. He added eight rebounds and four assists.
Senior Jequarius French pitched in nine points and seven rebounds. Guard Antuan Burks had 14 points.
