OKEMOS -- The Powers Catholic Girls Lacrosse team lost to Okemos in the regional final game Friday 11-10.

Head Coach Nickey Rosol told NBC25 Friday night, the winning goal was scored in the last five seconds of the game.

"It was the best game our team played all season," Rosol said. "We fought hard, and played smart."

In the pre-regional lacrosse matchup on May 23rd, Powers Catholic scored 15 goals in the first half, cruising to a 21-7 win over Flushing.

The Chargers' Libby Goyette scored two late first-half goals and Powers never looked back.

The chargers faced East Lansing on May 30th in the regional semifinal matchup and won 16-10. Prior to that game,  Powers' coach Nikey Rosol said her team is looking forward to the matchup, seeing they have already beaten East Lansing this season.

"Our girls believe and they want it bad," Rosol said. "Our seniors want that ring on their finger. It looked good on the boys in the state final for football and we're ready to go for it ourselves."
