The Great Lakes Loons lost a heartbreaker to the Dayton Dragons 8-7 at Dow Diamond.

Great Lakes started the game out with a 2-0 lead in the first inning, and then loaded the bases in the second to score three more runs.

Down 7-3 in the fifth, Dayton scored two runs thanks to RBI doubles by Joe Terry and Ryan Wright. Yovan Gonzalez and Junior Arias scored in the sixth inning to tie the game for Dayton.

Dayton scored the game winning run in the eighth when Joe Terry singled on a ground ball, sending home Juan Perez to put the Dragons up 8-7.

The Loons drop to a .470 winning percentage, while Dayton - currently last place in the Midwest League's East division - improved to .424.

The series finale for the Loons and the Dragons is Thursday, June 14, with first pitch at 7:05 p.m.
