FENTON -- Swartz Creek already has a ticket to the playoffs for the first time in school history, Friday they wanted the Flint Metro League title.

The Fenton Tigers had something to say about that.

Fenton was 5-1 in the division coming in to the showdown, the Dragons were 6-0.

The Tigers came out swinging, scoring often, forcing Swartz Creek's Quarterback Jaylen Schoenfield to throw four picks in the first half, five total.

Schoenfield had thrown just six interceptions in the Dragons' seven previous games.

Tigers QB, Connor Davidson, went 14-21 with 274 passing yards, with two passing TD's and one rushing TD as the Tigers beat the Dragons 55-28.

It was the third straight game the Tigers have put up 50 or more points, a school first.

There's now a three-way-tie for the lead atop the Flint Metro League between Swartz Creek, Fenton and Linden.

"Our offense is pretty electric, we've been scoring a lot of points the last month," Fenton Head Coach Jeff Setzke said. "I think tonight was a good test to see exactly how good were were and I think we proved to everyone we're a pretty good football team."

"It's always good to beat an undefeated team," Fenton wide receiver Damon Thomas said. "It's another win, we're one step closer to playoffs; it was a fun game; it was a great atmosphere."

Cadillac beat Clio 42-6.

Lapeer West beat Kearsley 48-7.

The Michigan women's basketball team is coming off their best season, including an NCAA tournament appearance last year.

This year the Wolverines have three returning starters and a brand new head coach, Kim Barnes Arico, and they believe they have something special.

The Maize and Blue open the season November 2nd at Crisler Center.
