The American Cancer Society is hosting a Suits and Sneakers Tip Off Breakfast for MSU's Coaches vs. Cancer on Thursday, Jan. 22 from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. at the Sheraton Hotel in Lansing.

EAST LANSING -- Attendees will enjoy a complimentary breakfast and hear an inspiring story about using basketball to beat cancer. Tom and Lupe will talk about the 2009 Suits and Sneakers Fundraising Challenge and how to become part of this special team whose collaborative efforts will help provide health and hope for thousands of people.

The mission of Coaches vs. Cancer is to increase cancer awareness and promote healthy living among students, faculty, school staff, fans and the community at large, through year-round awareness efforts, fund-raising activities and advocacy programs.

Since 1993, participating coaches have helped raise nearly $45 million to support the American Cancer Society’s fight against cancer. In 2008, nearly 2,000 college and high school coaches participated in the program.
