Tigers' starter to pitch for West Michigan Saturday
COMSTOCK PARK -- The Detroit Tigers have announced that Jeremy Bonderman is scheduled to pitch Saturday for the West Michigan Whitecaps on a rehabilitation assignment against the Great Lakes Loons at Fifth Third Ballpark.
Bonderman was limited to 12 starts last season after a blood clot was discovered in a vein near his right armpit. He had surgery to repair thoracic outlet compression syndrome June 30 and was in spring training this year with the Tigers developed shoulder soreness in late February.
Bonderman is a career 59-66 with a 4.74 ERA in six big league seasons, all spent with the Tigers.
Last season, Tigers outfielders Magglio Ordonez and Curtis Granderson all rehabilitated with the Whitecaps, who play their home games in Comstock Park, MI, near Grand Rapids.
