(AP) -- ALLEN PARK, Mich. - Lions general manager Martin Mayhew says he's not making predictions about next season after the team set a dubious NFL record with two wins in two years.

Mayhew did say Friday the team and organization are "much better," compared to two years ago thanks to a collective effort within the franchise.

Playmaking options on offense such as rookie running back Jahvid Best and tight end Tony Scheffler, one of the veterans added this offseason, are among the players making Mayhew optimistic.

Mayhew says he's does not think signing Ndamukong Suh will be a "big issue" before training camp starts next month in part because negotiations are already going in the right direction.

Detroit wrapped up a three-day minicamp Friday morning.
