Bulldogs earn 94-85 victory

MIDLAND -- The Northwood University men's basketball team dropped a 94-85 contest to Ferris State. (January 15)

The Timberwolves are now 5-11 overall, 3-5 in the GLIAC. Ferris improves to 11-5 overall and 7-2 in the GLIAC.

Northwood came out scoring the first basket of the game on jumper by Bobby Gibson (Harper Woods, Mich./Harper Woods). Northwood stayed close for the majority of the first half, but an 8-0 run by the Bulldogs late gave FSU a lead 46-38 at the break.

The Timberwolves came out strong in the second half scoring eight of the first ten points to tie the score at 48-48. FSU was the better team down the stretch, going on a 10-1 run with less than five minutes remaining to go up nine. The Timberwolves would get no closer than six the rest of the way

Northwood finished the contest shooting 44.7 percent from the floor, making 34-76 attempts. The Timberwolves also shot 38.5 percent from 3-point range (10-26). Ferris state finished 31-65 (47.7 percent) overall.

Leading the way for Northwood was VanDierenDonck scoring 21 points. Bobby Lewis (Saginaw, Mich/Mott CC) and Stoudmire (Ypsilanti, Mich./Belleville) both added 15 points, while Darvin Ham (Saginaw, Mich./Bridgeport) added 11 rebounds.

Northwood will take on Ohio Dominican this Thursday (January 20) Game time is set for 6 p.m.
