Grand Blanc boys ski team headed to state meet

Finals scheduled in Marquette on Feb. 28

The Grand Blanc boys’ ski team placed second at the regional meet last Thursday, qualifying as a team for the state meet for the second straight year.

The girls’ squad fell short, placing fifth, but will send on Marley Walter in the slalom and giant slalom and Lauren Ulrich in the giant slalom to the state meet. 

Making All-Regional for the boys were RJ Lambert, Nick Martin, Adam Novajovsky, Phil Klick and James Damone, while Walter and Ulrich made All-Region for the girls. 

 

Lambert posted a second-place finish in the GS and a third in the slalom, while Martin placed second in the slalom. Walter was third in slalom and fourth in the GS, Ulrich was sixth in the GS, Adam Novajovsky was third in the GS and Damone was seventh in the GS.

 

On Tuesday, both squads competed in the Southeast Michigan Ski League championships at Pine Knob. The boys’ team and Walter and Ulrich will compete at the state level in Marquette on Feb. 28.
